june 2007, also recently found and developed film from my friend Rosina's birthday at Walt Disney World. I bought this really shitty plastic 35mm flash camera for the trip... i need to find that thing again because i never developed any of the rolls until 3 years later and now i'm finding myself wishing I could use this camera for everything.

this is possibly my favorite photo that i've taken in a long time. I'm trying out some ideas that my friends have thrown my way but trying to do them in a completely personal way. I was thinking a lot about the female gaze last year and tried to capture it in some images i took of mollie, but i think i actually accomplished it here, without thinking. i guess the best work is the work you do for yourself when you're not really thinking about creating work. all your influences and ideas meld together and you get lucky.

these are so old, i found them on a roll of film that was unmarked in my big old bag of random rolls of undeveloped film. i had forgotten about this day.. it's new york, june 2008, for once in my life i was early to meet Paolo and wandered around 68th on the west side.

more lost

some more scans from the recent lost saturdays. not part of a series. just for fun. what's more fun than getting naked in the woods? nothing. exactly.

New Online Group Show at Wilgus Gallery!

Wilgus Gallery's November - December show is up now, go check it out: Here!

it was curated by Aiden Simon.

John Costello

these are from the only batch of film i've been unhappy to look at, ever. Great musician, all around good human, BXUG anchor, and close friend John Costello passed away on September 3rd, 2009. I'm a big believer in things happening for a reason but sometimes there is no rational explaination for things (this being one of them.)

I went home and because I am unable to process my feelings like a normal human being I took photographs for personal reflection. John had an amazing sense of humor and so when I saw that I had a pretty significant light flare on a completely cloudy day, I could only attribute it to him saying hi from the beyond. The flare is only in this shot, when all of the Scout leaders from his troop are saluting the Flag.

Undergrad Juried Show

I was lucky enough to get a print of my friend Jules into the undergrad juried show for fall '09.. and then very surprised when I got an honorable mention for the merit awards. the framing job isn't the best (eep..plexi) but It's probably my favorite image that I've ever made. The project that this image was from was a collaboration with fellow artist Jules Ruiz.

sorry for the hiatus. I was having a little bit of a hard time for a while but one of the things that has been helping has been doing these saturday 'get lost' days where michael, mollie, and I grab whomever wants to join and go and get lost in the wilderness. I've had some wonderful images develop from them.
